Goddess Thicc Fit-losophy
One of the big "aha!" moments in my healing journey, was when I came across a photo of ancient sculptures of goddesses. These bodies are voluptuous and curvy, with rolls, shapes and cellulite. These were the worshiped goddesses. Everybody's body changes as we get older, when we have kids, and/or with many other life events. Too often we are made to feel ashamed. It is time to feel beautiful, capable, and thriving in your body. Feel sexy and comfortable knowing what you are able to accomplish. Unleash your inner goddess, and rule your life!
It's amazing that we all know that being active is incredibly important for your health but oftentimes we are left feeling dismissed and judged. Everything is about eating less and moving more. But how? They rarely ask you what you are currently doing and just make assumptions that you haven't tried everything under the sun already and that you just need a little JUDGEMENT FREE guidance.
How many times have you said, "I'd really like a personal trainer to tell me what to do, but they won't understand." Or "They've never been overweight, they'll just judge me and make me feel embarrassed." Or even "I don't want to train with these kids straight out of college, I've got kids." Chances are if you're here, you've tried everything (or just about) and you're fed up.
Our bodies tell a story of who we are. There is nothing to be ashamed of. Instead we should celebrate how far we have come, what our bodies have done for us, and what our bodies are willing to endure in our coming journey.
Meet Tyghan
My desire is to go deeper than just the weight loss image. I want to help people to be active, capable, and present in their own lives. You don't have to be ashamed, and you don't have to do this alone!
I grew up as a very active child and into a very fit teenager playing multiple sports at once. Even though I was fit, I was surrounded by the generational toxic weight and body image tropes that have plagued women throughout history. In my adult life I didn't understand how to take care of my body without sports and I became a victim to toxic diet culture. I fluctuated weight going from fit kid to fat kid to fit kid to fat kid, succumbing to every fad diet you could even imagine. It has taken many years of working on myself to heal from diet culture, which only damages our bodies. And everyday I still work on my own mindset, having to deal with how society views not only being a woman who is overweight, but a mom who didn't snap back after having her kids. With my own coach, I have realized that what I truly desire is to be capable, present, and healthy for myself and my kids; to be a good example; and to teach them how to take care of their bodies without sports.
In embarking on this journey I have come to realize that we are stronger when together. My darkest moments were those that I felt alone. So in December 2023, I decided to quit my job in corporate America and create the inclusive community that I always wanted.
